Patricia Pintner
Artist Background
Born in Los Angeles, I have lived in the Bay area for over 30 years and in Richmond since 2005. I am drawn to the variety and potential of different materials, natural and man-made, and how they can be combined and reassembled to create thought provoking compositions. Much of my work contains references to architecture and the layers of the urban and/or natural landscape.
Artist Statement
As a mixed media painter, sculptor, textile artist and crafts person, I experiment with different materials and techniques and how they combine and interact. These recent collage works are assembled in layers, using paints, papers, pens/pencils/markers, photography and other collected materials. The act of creating and constructing serves as a necessary outlet for me, a need to make things and interpret my observations into visual form.
