Tom Zizzo
Artist Statement
I am a Bay Area based painter whose work explores color, structure, and emergence through layered oil paintings. My practice draws on a background in science and graphic design, shaping a process grounded in careful observation and visual clarity. Influenced by the rhythms of the natural world my paintings are meant to be experienced slowly. Meaning is not fixed in advance but unfolds through looking, as the eye follows the accumulated paths that brought the image into being.
I have exhibited at many juried art shows, and also received critical recognition including the Judges Award for the Art in the Redwoods exhibit at Gualala Arts Center.
